Wind power problems, alleged problems and objections: a page ...
An unbiased and informed discussion of many of the more contentious features of wind power and wind farms. There are some real problems with wind turbines and there are a number of alleged problems that are unfairly used by opponents of wind power to discredit the technology.
Gas-turbine engine: Gas-turbine engine, any internal-combustion engine employing a gas as the working fluid used to turn a turbine. The term also is conventionally used to describe a complete internal-combustion engine consisting of at least a compressor, a combustion chamber, and a turbine.

A fossil fuel power station is a power station which burns a fossil fuel such as coal, natural gas, or petroleum to produce electricity.Central station fossil fuel power plants are designed on a large scale for continuous operation.
It may seem counterintuitive, but fire can be a serious danger in hydropower plants. In some respects, the danger is even greater than in thermal power stations. Most U.S. hydro plants are 30 to 70 years old but can deliver another 20 or 30 years of service with upgrades — including state-of-the-art fire protection systems.
Fossil fuels blown away by wind in cost terms: study
According to a new cost analysis from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), within two years "all the renewable power generation technologies that are now in commercial use are expected to fall within the fossil fuel-fired cost range, with most at the lower end or undercutting fossil fuels".
